The Canyons School District currently employs a team of 36 School Psychologists and 9 School Social Workers, staffed in every school within the district. These mental health professionals provide a variety of services, including Special Education (IDEA) evaluations, social skills and behavioral training and supports with students, counseling services, parent and teacher consultations, reponse to intervention implementation, data analysis of student performance, and crisis responses. The CSD School Psychologists and School Social Workers are integral members of their school, leadership and problem-solving teams. They are significantly involved in the design and implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) within the district's schools. Additional duties include coordination of 504 Accommodation Plans, behavioral health screening, and parent training and/or counseling services provided at the Canyons Family Center.
